Rotary Club of Northbrook hosts annual Fourth of July pancake breakfast

The Rotary Club of Northbrook invites all to join the excitement from 7 to 9 a.m. Monday, July 4, at Village Green Park for the long-awaited return to the Annual Pancake Breakfast, which also kicks off Rubber Ducky Race season.

Join us for a pancake breakfast in the park right after the Liberty Loop & Lap! Meals cost $5 for kids 4 and younger; $10 for adults. Cash only, please.

Rubber Ducky Race tickets will be sold at the breakfast as well: one Lucky Duck is $10; a quack pack of five is $25; a flock of 15 is $100. The winning duck's owner is eligible for $1,000, $500 or $250 in cash prizes.

Tickets also can be purchased online: northbrookrotary.org.

Rotarians will be selling tickets throughout town at Waterway Carwash; Dairy Queen; North Suburban YMCA; Sunset Foods; Northbrook Chamber office in the Civic Building or online prior to the event.

In addition to providing an annual family fun tradition, the yearly Rubber Ducky Race being held on July 12th is one of the fundraisers that supports local grants! This is an opportunity to teach children about being good citizens and how a small donation can have a big impact. Plus they get to see the ducks race!

Grants ranging from $500 to $2,500 - totaling about $42,000 - were awarded previously to a number of local nonprofit organizations including: Youth Services of Glenview/Northbrook; The Northfield Township Food Pantry; Hunger Resource Network; Outreach/Feed 6; Cancer Wellness Center; Friendship Circle Of Illinois; North Suburban YMCA; Keshet; Rainbow Hospice and Palliative Care; Northbrook Symphony Orchestra; Josselyn Center; Northbrook Historical Society; Special Gifts Theater; Total Link 2 Community; Glenbrook North High School Grad Night; Center For Enriched Living; Center On Deafness; Northbrook Community Nursery School; Family Promise Chicago; Gratitude Generation; Community Vocational Scholarships.

The Rotary Club of Northbrook believes in "Service Above Self" and focuses its efforts to help fund annual community grants programs, scholarships, and global initiatives that support that mission.
