Q&A

Why are you running for this office, whether for re-election or election for the first time? Is there a particular issue that motivates you?

I'm running because I care about our community and feel that the incumbent needs to be more in-tune with the needs of her constituents. In talking with residents of District 1, people dont know who their county board member is. Issues that motivate me are combating the opioid epidemic as well as holding the line on spending and taxes.

If you are an incumbent, describe your main contributions. Tell us of any important initiatives you've led. If you are a challenger, what would you bring to the board and what would your priority be?

I will bring a practical and common-sense approach to insure that the county spends responsibly with our tax dollars.

Describe your position regarding the balance between county spending and revenues as it exists today, then describe the chief threats you see looming and how the county should deal with them.

Rising cost always threaten the balance between expenditures and incoming proceeds. Board members must remain fiscally responsible and focus on issues that matter the most in individual communities.

How do you rate the county government on transparency and the public's access to records? If it's adequate, explain why. If you think improvements are needed, delineate them.

Transparency and public access to records is important in all aspects of Government. The minutes of all county board members are accessible online but we should always be looking for improvements.

What, if anything, should be done to improve automation and customer service in county offices? What steps should be taken to make that happen?

Ever-changing technology should always be used to improve processes both for government and residents.
