Popeyes proposed at Elk Grove Town Center
A Popeyes restaurant and drive-through is proposed at the Elk Grove Town Center, village officials said this week.
Dhanani Group, which franchises Popeyes and Burger King restaurants across the country, has petitioned Elk Grove Village to resubdivide the property south of the existing 7-Eleven gas station at Arlington Heights and Biesterfield roads, and grant a special use permit for the new construction fast food eatery.
Mayor Craig Johnson said the franchisee has been talking to village officials since last summer. The parking lot site was formerly proposed as an Arby's location, but that proposal fell through, he said.
A public hearing before the plan commission will be scheduled before the village board considers final approval.
