Bulls' DeRozan caps magical season with all-NBA second team nod

After an impressive first season with the Bulls, DeMar DeRozan was named to the all-NBA second team, which was announced Tuesday evening.

DeRozan averaged 27.9 points per game, the highest total in his 13 NBA seasons. His 50.4% shooting was second-highest of his career. DeRozan was an all-star starter and led the Bulls into the playoffs for the first time since 2017.

This is DeRozan's third appearance on an all-NBA team. He was on the second team in 2018 and third team in '17 while playing for the Toronto Raptors.

The all-NBA first team included guards Devin Booker (Phoenix) and Luka Doncic (Dallas), forwards Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee) and Jayson Tatum (Boston), and center Nikola Jokic (Denver).

Joining DeRozan on the second team was forward Kevin Durant (Brooklyn), guards Ja Morant (Memphis) and Steph Curry (Golden State), and center Joel Embiid (Philadelphia).

The third team was Chris Paul (Phoenix), Trae Young (Atlanta), LeBron James (Lakers), Pascal Siakam (Toronto) and Karl Anthony Towns (Minnesota).

When the season ended, DeRozan talked about how much he enjoyed his first season in Chicago.

"It's kind of one of those dream-come-true type of situations, of things you didn't expect to happen," he said. "It kind of exceeded your imagination. So it was great, I'm already looking forward to next year, just getting back out there and doing it again."
