School in Niles changing hands

NILES - Cawley Chicago announced the recent disposition of a two-story, 63,000-square-foot former grade school facility located at 6935 W. Touhy Avenue in Niles.

Principal David Conroy and Zach Pruitt alongside Vice President Nicholas Schaefer and Associate Joe Shapiro represented the seller, Niles D71 School District.

This was a unique transaction as the re-purposing of the site was proposed by several different developers. Ultimately, the building will remain as a school; Maryville Academy will renovate the building and bring it back to its original luster.

"We're excited for the new owners to realize their vision for the building and the community. Their investment in Niles should bring a great new chapter to this building that has housed thousands of students since it was erected in the early 1930s," Conroy says.
