Watch Krishnamoorthi, Ahmed debate in U.S. House primary

In this video of a joint candidate interview with the Daily Herald, U.S. Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi of Schaumburg highlights his achievements while challenger Junaid Ahmed of South Barrington highlights his activism and independence from corporate donations.

The two are running in the June 28 Democratic primary for the U.S. House in the newly drawn 8th Congressional District.

They discussed the Jan. 6 insurrection, the war in Ukraine, climate challenges and several other issues during the at-times feisty hourlong exchange.

The expansive suburban district centers around Bloomingdale, Schaumburg and Streamwood, but also extends as far north as Carpentersville and Buffalo Grove, as far south as Lombard and Villa Park, as far west as Elgin and as far easy as Elk Grove Village.
