4 charged after McHenry police find 66 pounds of cannabis
Four people have been arrested on drug charges after more than 66 pounds of cannabis products, along with other drugs and guns, were found in a McHenry home.
A news release from the McHenry County sheriff's office says the drugs and weapons were found when McHenry police officers responded on Feb. 9 to an apartment in the 4000 block of Oak Avenue to check on a person's well-being.
Authorities reported finding the cannabis, 112 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 50.7 grams of cocaine, two AR-15-style semi-automatic rifles and a 9 mm pistol.
The McHenry County Narcotics Task Force was called to investigate.
Liam P. Keegan, 20, of McHenry, is charged with unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of cannabis, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, all felonies; and endangering the life of a child, a misdemeanor. The child is a 1-year-old boy, according to authorities.
Jade D. McGuire, 19, of McHenry, is charged felony unlawful possession of cannabis, felony unlawful possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor endangering the life of a child.
Michael Strauss, 19, of Spring Grove, is charged with felony unlawful possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, felony unlawful possession with intent to deliver cannabis, two counts of felony unlawful possession of a controlled substance, felony unlawful possession of cannabis, felony calculated criminal cannabis conspiracy and two misdemeanors - unlawful possession of a firearm without a firearm owners identification card and unlawful possession of ammunition without a FOID.
Austin T. Hird, 19, of Spring Grove is charged with unlawful possession with intent to deliver cannabis, unlawful possession of cannabis and calculated criminal cannabis conspiracy, all felonies.
Keegan and McGuire were arrested on Feb. 9. Strauss was arrested Tuesday, Hird on Friday.
McGuire is free on bond. Strauss is being held on $500,000 bail, Hird is being held on $200,000 bail and Keegan is being held on $60,000 bail.
