Dining bites: St. Charles' Tap House Grill fetes 15 years with free buffet Saturday

Cheers to 15 years

Tap House Grill in St. Charles is turning 15 on Saturday, Jan. 15. And to celebrate, the bar and grill will be serving up a free Old School Buffet from 6-8 p.m. featuring scallop corn dogs, fried bacon, root beer braised beef sandwiches and Man Salad. Plus, former bartenders will be serving drinks, including $3 Bomb Shots and $5 VCR Martinis, while live music plays. Sounds like a party!

Warrior Paint release party

In the mood for a new brew? Half Day Brewing is hosting a Warrior Paint release party on Friday, Jan. 14, featuring 10-ounce pours of the limited release 2021 Warrior Paint and 2021 Double Coffee Warrior Paint brew. Both have been aged for a year in Tattersall Rye Whiskey Barrels. Can't make it Friday? A limited quantity of two-pack 16-ounce cans will be available for to-go.

It might be cold outside - OK, really cold - but who says you can't indulge in frozen custard? Especially now that Andy's Frozen Custard is offering the Cookie Casanova Jackhammer and Cookie Casanova Sundae through March 8. Both treats feature vanilla frozen custard, fresh chocolate chip cookies, and hot fudge or crème caramel.

Partnering with Fess Parker Winery & Vineyard, the restaurant's $75 per person dinner includes beet carpaccio paired with Epiphany Red Blend Santa Barbara County, shrimp and scallop arancini paired with Pinot Noir Santa Rita Hills, fig prosciutto chop paired with Syrah Santa Barbara County and caramel banana wontons paired with Riesling Santa Barbara County.
