Six from Fox Lake assisted-living facility hospitalized with COVID-19 symptoms
Six people at an assisted-living facility in Fox Lake were hospitalized with COVID-19 symptoms Saturday afternoon, according to the Fox Lake Fire Department.
An ambulance was sent at about 5:20 p.m. to The Cottages of Fox Lake, an assisted-living and memory care facility, for reports of an individual suffering from COVID-19 symptoms, officials said.
While the ambulance was on its way, the dispatcher told the crew there were six total patients. Four more ambulances from Round Lake, Grayslake, Lake Villa and Spring Grove were then sent to the facility to transport the rest of the patients.
All six patients were in stable condition and transported to nearby hospitals for further evaluation, the fire department said.
