Lisle hosting open house on flood prevention Monday

The Village of Lisle will hold an open house Monday, Nov. 8, for residents to learn more about flood prevention and the resources available for flooding assistance.

Topics discussed at the meeting will include issues related to flooding, flood prevention, safety, obtaining insurance, and risks.

The meeting will be held in the board room at the village hall, 925 Burlington Ave. The open house begins at 5 p.m., with the Flood Information Committee meeting beginning at 7 p.m.

Holding the open house and convening the village's Flood Information Committee is part of the village's participation in FEMA's Community Rating System program. The program provides credit for these efforts, which in turn makes owners of property in the regulatory floodplain eligible for a 25% reduction on flood insurance premiums and a possible 10% reduction on all other policies.
