Elmhurst University to host Ebrahim Moosa for al-Ghazali Lecture
Elmhurst University hosts Ebrahim Moosa for this year's al-Ghazali Lecture, which is part of the school's Religious Literacy Project.
Moosa's lecture is title "Madrasa: Traditional Islam in the Modern World." Moosa is the Mirza Family Professor of Islamic Thought and Muslim Societies in the Keough School of Global Affairs at the University of Notre Dame. Moosa specializes in Islamic law, history, ethics and theology. At Notre Dame, Moosa codirects Contending Modernities, a global research and education initiative that examines the interaction among Catholic, Muslim and other religious and secular forces.
The lecture is set for 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, in the Frick Center's Founders Lounge at 190 Prospect Ave., Elmhurst. Admission to the lecture is free, but reservations are encouraged at elmhurst.edu/cultural.
