Chicago man killed Saturday in Mount Prospect crash
One man is dead after a crash involving a passenger vehicle and a truck Saturday evening in Mount Prospect.
Stefan M. Bell, 24, of Chicago was pronounced dead at 6:44 p.m. at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. He died from multiple injuries suffered in a "motor vehicle -- semi-truck collision," according to the medical examiner. Bell's passenger remains in the hospital, a Mount Prospect Police Department news release said.
The semi-truck driver was not injured.
Mount Prospect police said the crash occurred at approximately 5:51 p.m. at Dempster Street and Linneman Road.
Upon arrival, officers located a Jeep flipped over with a semi-truck resting on top of the Jeep.
The preliminary investigation revealed the impact of the crash resulted in the Jeep rolling over and coming to rest on its roof.
The accident is currently under investigation by the Mount Prospect Police Department. They ask that anyone who witnessed the crash or has more information on it call the department's Major Crash Investigation Team at (847) 818-5301.
