Festivals June 4-10: Naperville Soulfest, Elgin's Going Dutch Fest and more

Aurora First Fridays: 5-9 p.m. Friday, June 4, at various locations in Aurora. June's First Fridays events also celebrate Pride Month. Paramount School of the Arts, 20 S. Stolp Ave., will present Paramount Pride with LGBTIA+ artists and vendors including Culture Stock, Hector Ortiz jewelry and Tarot Card readings from Annie Hex. Guided school tours will be available. Free Pride WERQ fitness classes will be offered from 6-7 p.m. in front of North Island Center, 8 E. Galena Blvd. Santori Public Library, 101 S. River St., will offer Pride Storytime with Miss Andrea at 6 p.m. and Maevis Jazz Trio until 8:30 p.m. Visitors can make a pride button and view the 2020 Aurora Pride Drive Photo Exhibit from 6-9 p.m. Happy Thoughts Suicide Awareness Outreach of Illinois, 31 W. Downer Place, Suite. 212, will offer candles for sale and showcase the Pride Project from 4-8 p.m. Food trucks will be at Water Street Square from 5-9 p.m. auroradowntown.org.

Dundee Concerts in the Park: 7-8:30 p.m. Friday, June 4, at Carpenter Park, 275 Maple Ave., Carpentersville. Flat Cats will perform. Food and drinks will be sold by the Dundee Township Lions Club. All proceeds will benefit the community. Free. www.wdundee.org.

11th Annual Going Dutch Festival: Various times June 4-13, virtually and around downtown Elgin. A celebration of the female voice in dance, music, theater and the visual arts, produced by Side Street Studio Arts, 15 Ziegler Court, Elgin. Features outdoor performances, interactive workshops and a visual art exhibition available online and in person. Festival passes cost $15 and grant admission to all events. Aurora Arts Weekend: Various times Friday and Saturday, June 4-5, in downtown Aurora. First Fridays features art, music and activities for all ages at more than two dozen downtown locations. Naperville Soulfest: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, June 5, at Naper Settlement, 523 S. Webster St., Naperville. Outdoor bazaar featuring food and artisan vendors, live music performances by local jazz, R&B, gospel, reggae and house artists on the main stage, dancing, a youth zone and a beverage pavilion. Vintage Auto Fest: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 5, at Stacy's Historic Corners, 800 N. Main St., Glen Ellyn. Glen Ellyn Historical Society's seventh annual event will be a smaller, modified version of the annual event. Elgin Valley Fox Trot: 7:30 a.m. Sunday, June 6, at Kimball and Douglas, Elgin. 44th annual 5K and 10-mile race travels through Elgin's downtown, historic neighborhoods and parks.
