Elkay joins international plumbing trade group

DOWNERS GROVE - Elkay, a family-owned manufacturer of sinks, faucets, drinking water solutions and other plumbing products, has joined Plumbing Manufacturers International as one way of preparing for business opportunities and challenges expected to emerge post-COVID-19, the company said.

"There's so much going on - it's the right time," said John Watson, Elkay's manager of compliance and sustainability, who will serve as the company's primary liaison with PMI.

PMI is the trade association of plumbing product manufacturers that produce more than 90% of the United States' plumbing products, represent more than 150 iconic brands. It helps companies develop safe, reliable and innovative water-efficient plumbing technologies.

Downers Grove-based Elkay, with more than 2,600 employees worldwide, has manufacturing and distribution facilities in the U.S. and abroad. It has been family-owned since 1920.

"Elkay is a well-respected member of the plumbing products community and brings a historic legacy of great products and great brands," said Kerry Stackpole, PMI CEO and executive director. "We are excited about working together to further the goals and future of the plumbing fixture and fittings industry."
