Indiana reports nearly 1,200 more COVID-19 cases, 10 deaths

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Indiana health officials on Sunday reported 1,198 more confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 10 additional deaths.

The state was approaching 700,000 infections and has logged more than 12,700 deaths from COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic. Another 405 probable deaths were reported based on patient clinical diagnoses but for whom no positive test was on record.

At the same time, more than 1.4 million Indiana residents have been fully vaccinated, according to the Indiana Department of Health.

Currently, all Indiana residents age 16 and older are eligible for the vaccine.

A mass vaccination site is Gary is open. Two federal mobile sites will also run later this week in East Chicago and LaPorte.
