Lewis hired as new St. Charles North principal

Shanna Lewis, currently an associate principal at Lyons Township High School, will be hired as the new principal at St. Charles North High School.

St. Charles Unit District 303 officials announced the decision Thursday, saying they'll recommend approval at Monday's school board meeting. Lewis will replace Audra Christenson, who was hired as St. Charles North's principal in 2013.

Lewis is currently the associate principal at the Lyons Township High south campus, which serves the freshman and sophomore classes. She'll begin her job at St. Charles North on July 1.

Lewis taught in Virginia for a year before teaching at Naperville North High School. She was a dean and assistant principal at Lincoln and Madison junior high schools in Naperville before being hired at Lyons Township High.

She holds bachelor degrees from Fairfield University, a master's degree from Fordham University and she earned administrative leadership credentials from North Central College.
