Watch candidates for Wheeling village board discuss the issues.

Six candidates seeking seats on the Wheeling village board in the April 6 election discussed issues in the race with a representative of the Daily Herald Editorial Board.

They were interviewed in separate sessions, which can be seen in two videos.

In the first, Daily Herald Editorial Board member Jim Slusher interviewed candidates James Ruffatto, Laura Alicia Rodriguez, Mary C. Krueger and Mary M. Papantos.

In the second, Slusher interviewed candidates Donald Lee Waller and Kimberly Anne Scanlon.

In both interviews, candidates discussed topics ranging from village finances to a trustee's responsibilities to the community.

The election is April 6. Mail-in voting begins March 10 and in-person early voting soon after that.
