2nd girl dies after 4 pulled from burning NE Indiana home

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) - A second child has died after being pulled along with two siblings and her mother from a burning home in northeastern Indiana.

Eleven-month-old Lilly DeFord died Friday, a day after the fire swept her family's home in Fort Wayne, the Allen County corner's office announced Monday.

Her 2-year-old sister, Hazel DeFord, had died hours after the Sept. 24 fire. Autopsies were completed, but the cause and manner of death for both siblings are pending, The Journal Gazette reported.

Authorities said the girls were taken along with a sibling and their mother to a hospital in critical condition after all four were pulled from their burning home. They were found in the home's living room.
