Budget plan approved for Mundelein High

The Mundelein High School board on Tuesday approved a tentative budget for the 2021 fiscal year, which began July 1. It calls for about $43.1 million in spending on salaries, classroom necessities, repairs and other purchases, school business manager Andy Searle said. That sum is down slightly from the 2020 fiscal year. The budget also predicts about $43.3 million in revenue from property taxes, fees and other sources. That sum is up from the 2020 estimate, even though tax and fee collections are expected to be lower this year because of the COVID-19 crisis, Searle said. The board is scheduled to vote on the final budget Sept. 8.
