Clubhouse Chatter: Who is the worst commissioner in sports?
What our Sports staff has to say while waiting for the games to resume.
It's easy to throw Rob Manfred under the bus right now but I have to go with the NFL's Roger Goodell. His decision-making is erratic at best and he appears to have very little positive patronage among the players or owners.

It's been Gary Bettman since Bud Selig retired. Bettman has lost more games to work stoppage than any commissioner in any sport ever. But Rob Manfred is giving him a run for his money.
- Barry Rozner
Probably any number of commissioners could claim this title, and on a rotating basis. It's my opinion that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell fumbled the Colin Kaepernick situation years ago, a situation yet to be sufficiently rectified.

Rob Manfred. The mishandling of the Astros' cheating scandal. The inability of the players union and owners to make nice during a pandemic. The jury is out on the lawyer. He's guilty of not loving baseball and is banned from ever having peanuts and Cracker Jack.

Rob Manfred. Baseball, invented 150 years ago, has become more and more unwatchable as each year goes by. But that doesn't mean you implement silly rule changes like forcing relievers to face at least three betters. MLB is a rudderless ship, led by a truly incompetent captain.

Roger Goodell ... flip-flops on social issues that pertain to the NFL.
- Patricia Babcock McGraw
Even though MLB commissioner Rob Manfred has received pretty bad publicity in recent weeks, I think NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell gets the award. He always seems to be a step or three behind in making the right decision in different situations.
