DuPage County postpones trout season opening

The spring rainbow trout season opener, originally scheduled for April 4, has been postponed indefinitely at three DuPage Forest Preserve District lakes in keeping with the governor's stay-at-home order.

The main entrances to Grove Lake at Wood Dale Grove in Wood Dale, Silver Lake at Blackwell in Warrenville, and Pickerel Lake at Pratt's Wayne Woods in Wayne will be closed Saturday and Sunday, April 4 and 5, to ensure compliance.

All three lakes will remain closed to all fishing indefinitely.

Boat rentals at Blackwell, which were scheduled to open April 4, also are postponed indefinitely.

At Blackwell, the off-leash dog area and the McKee Marsh parking lot on Mack Road will remain open as will the Stearns Road parking lots at Pratt's Wayne Woods.

Many DuPage forest preserves and trails remain open.
