Holcomb names Grennes to lead state Department of Revenue

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - The chief operating officer of the Indiana Department of Revenue is being promoted to the agency's commissioner.

Gov. Eric Holcomb announced Friday that he has selected Bob Grennes to serve as commissioner, effective Feb. 1. He will succeed Adam Krupp, who's resigning to run for state attorney general.

Grennes has served since 2017 as the chief operating officer of the agency. He also helps lead a modernization project to allow Indiana taxpayers to use state-of-the-art technology to file returns, make payments and manage accounts.

The Department of Revenue administers 65 tax types and annually processes nearly $21 billion of tax revenue including processing millions of tax returns and completing thousands of audits.
