Chicago audiences will have to wait a year longer for fashion magazine editor Miranda Priestly to sing.

Broadway in Chicago announced Tuesday that "The Devil Wears Prada" musical will now play the city at the CIBC Theatre from July 13 to Aug. 15, 2021. The pre-Broadway world premiere was originally slated to start in July 2020 at Chicago's James M. Nederlander Theatre.

Tony Award-winner Beth Leavel ("The Drowsy Chaperone," "The Prom") was announced to star as Priestly, while Broadway veteran Taylor Iman Jones ("Groundhog Day," "Head Over Heels") will play the journalism intern Andrea "Andy" Sachs. MTV Video Music Award-winner James Alsop, known for working with Beyoncé and Lady Gaga, has joined the production as choreographer.

This musical adaptation of Lauren Weisberger's best-selling 2003 novel and the 2006 blockbuster film was previously announced to feature a score by composer Elton John and lyricist Shaina Taub, plus a script by Paul Rudnick.
