Amita St. Joseph Auxiliary fashion show to aid cancer center

The latest seasonal fashions and a trendy vendor fashion boutique highlight this year's "Fall into Fashion" fashion show and luncheon sponsored by the Amita Health St. Joseph Hospital Elgin Auxiliary Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Grand Victoria Casino, 250 S. Grove Ave. in Elgin.

Doors open at 10:30 a.m. with the event's popular raffles and vendors, followed by a lunch at noon and today's fashion trends presented by Chico's at The Arboretum of South Barrington.

Tickets are available for $55 per adult and $25 for children ages 12 or younger. Complimentary valet parking will be available.

"Proceeds from this year's 78th annual auxiliary fashion show will support the Bob and Edna Meadows Regional Cancer Center at Amita Health St. Joseph Hospital Elgin," said Nancy Crivolio, auxiliary president.

"It will enable us to continue to make a difference in the lives of the many individuals in our community, families not unlike yours and mine, who are impacted by cancer.

"We are also grateful for the support of this event from the Amita Health Saint Joseph Hospital Elgin medical staff and the Weiler Family Foundation," Crivolio said.

Since its opening in the fall of 2008, the Bob and Edna Meadows Regional Cancer Care Center has provided a powerful combination of the most caring staff and support system with an arsenal of highly advanced medical treatments and resources.

The cancer center has a new True Beam advanced linear accelerator for cancer treatment. It provides greater precision and accuracy targeting cancer cells and minimizes exposure of radiation to nearby healthy tissue.
