Girls volleyball: Wadas wallops 16 kills in Hoffman win

Senior Patricia Wadas put down 16 kills to help lead Hoffman Estates' girls volleyball team to a 14-25, 25-22, 25-21 nonconference win over Wauconda on Tuesday night.

The Hawks (8-10) also received 9 kills from junior Niyah McAllister and 6 from classmate Nora Rakoci.

Ashley Poland (17 dogs), Wadas (9) and Emma Essex (7) led the back row while senior Callie Meese was 75-of-76 setting with 32 assists. Essex also served 4 aces while junior Casidy Ryan had 2.

Marist d. St. Viator: Marist posted a 25-12, 25-18 ESCC triumph over visiting St. Viator (11-14, 1-4) which was led on attack by Marie Torosian (3 kills), Lauren Allaire (2 kills) and Lilly LaFleur (2 kills). Erin Aldana (6 assists) and Cailyn Harrington (4 assists) set the offense while Danielle Panzeca (6 digs) and Reanne Valera (5 digs) led the back row.

Leyden d. Proviso East: Senior Kinga Nowacyk (6 kills, 1 ace), senior Jocelyn Escamilla (15 assists, 4 aces and 2 kills) and junior Hannah Stocks (6 kills, 1 ace) helped lead visiting Leyden to a 25-13, 25-7 triumph.

College volleyball

Harper d. Joliet: Harper College improved to 8-0 in the N4C with a 25-23. 25-23, 25-14 victory. Amelia Reiter (10 kills), Rachel Kandefer (9 kills) Rugile Jaciunas (8 kills) led the attack for Harper which received 15 digs from Jules Carusiello. Taylor Pfaller handed out 33 assists with 5 aces while Kandefer had 3 blocks and Jaciunas 2.5 blocks.
