Bring the family to 'Back to School Festival' Aug. 17 in Geneva
The Geneva Park District invites the community to its "Back to School Festival" from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at Peck Farm Park, 4038 Kaneville Road in Geneva.
Bring the family to Peck Farm Park and have one last fun-filled day before school starts in Geneva!
There will be kids activities, nature crafts, a scavenger hunt, and a "Birds of Prey" presentation.
Hawks Hollow Nature Playground and the Butterfly House will be open for your enjoyment.
Hawks Hollow is an environmental educational playground that features eight learning stations featuring native bird, tree and bug species. With a focus on local plants and wildlife, these learning stations aim to inspire children to explore further on and off the nature playground, nurturing a lifelong connection to their environment.
The Butterfly House features hundreds of nonnative butterflies that fly, feed, and land around you. It is open mid-May through mid-September. It closes for the season the third Saturday of September. There is a suggested donation of $2 per person or $5 per family which goes toward maintaining the Butterfly House.
