Thank you for helping our veterans

First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights supported an organization called, Veterans Exiting Homelessness, from Memorial Day through the 4th of July. This organization collects basic household goods such as kitchen utensils, cleaning supplies, and personal hygiene items and then donates them to veterans that have secured housing through the Department of Veterans Affairs. Since the veteran was homeless, trying to fill an empty apartment can be costly and stressful.

First Pres asked its members to donate items and invited the local community to join us in this important task. The response was overwhelming! People dropped off numerous items at both the Memorial and 4th of July parades, as well as brought items directly to the church during this time period. Cash donations were also received which will be used to purchase a mattress, box spring, frame, and more.

It is through the generosity of caring individuals and a giving community that we were able to positively affect the people that give so much to us. Thank you for your generous spirit of giving!
