Holcomb promotes deputy state budget director to top job

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb has a new budget aide.

Holcomb announced Friday that Zachary Jackson will serve as state budget director after serving since 2013 as the deputy director, where he helped produce the governor's biennial budget and manage state spending.

From 2008 to 2012, Jackson served as assistant director of the State Budget Agency, overseeing the Health and Human Services Division, where he managed more than 40 percent of the state's annual budget and provided fiscal oversight to about 35 state agencies.

Jackson succeeds Jason Dudich as state budget director. Dudich resigned to become a vice president at the University of Indianapolis.
