Water main break repaired; Naperville elementary school to reopen
Clow Elementary School in Indian Prairie Unit District 204 will reopen Wednesday after a water main break at Springdale Circle canceled classes Tuesday.
Principal Katie Bennett said city crews have successfully repaired the main. School will resume as normal Wednesday, Bennett said in a message to families.
All after-school activities Tuesday also were canceled at the campus at 1301 Springdale Circle, Naperville.
"There has been a water main break on Springdale Circle which is located directly in front of Clow," Bennett wrote. "Due to this water main break, there is currently no running water inside the building. School will be closed for the day."
City spokeswoman Linda LaCloche said in an email the pipe wall failure was due to corrosion. The pipe was originally installed in 1978.
