Arlington Heights District 25 art show reception Thursday at library

The opening reception for the 27th annual Arlington Heights Elementary District 25 Student Art Show at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library is scheduled from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Hundreds of students, families, teachers and community leaders regularly attend the opening night festivities at the library, which will feature the student art displays along with live music and refreshments. This year's show, which runs through May 23, features more than 400 works of art created by students at the nine elementary and middle schools in District 25.

The artwork, located in the library's Marketplace gallery area and first floor display cases, includes watercolors, pastels, interactive digital pieces, and a Lego reproduction of Rembrandt's "Old Man with a Gold Chain."
