Wisconsin man charged with arson in Antioch fire

A Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, man has been charged with committing arson, accused of setting a diesel-fuel storage tank on fire in a drunken rage April 7.

Lake County Sheriff's deputies arrested John J. Nolan, 32, April 25.

According to a news release, Nolan said he damaged the tank and set the fire after becoming angry he had been unsuccessful earlier that night asking someone out on a date.

The fire happened around 4 a.m. April 7 in the 42900 block of North Pedersen Lane, near Antioch.

The homeowners had a video surveillance system. It showed that just prior to their 911 call, a man entered the property and began damaging items on the lawn. Then the man set fire to the diesel fuel in the tank. It ignited, and the tank exploded. The man ran off.

Nolan was arrested at his workplace. He lives in the 300 block of Holly Hill Road in Twin Lakes.

He is charged with arson and criminal damage to property. He is being held in the Lake County jail on $100,000 bail. His next court date is May 14.
