Bisesi wins Rolling Meadows Ward 5 race by two votes

Jon Bisesi has held onto a two-vote lead to become the next Ward 5 alderman in Rolling Meadows, according to the Cook County clerk's office, which certified results this week.

Bisesi finished with 63 votes, Glenn Adams had 61 and Joe Szafran had 16 - a tally that remained unchanged since the morning after election night, when any possible provisional and mail-in ballots were still to be counted.

Adams, who held the aldermanic seat from 1997 to 2011, said Thursday he didn't plan to pursue a recount through the courts, and congratulated Bisesi.

Bisesi, chairman of the planning and zoning commission, will be sworn in May 14 with two other new aldermen: Kevin O'Brien in Ward 3 and Lara Sanoica in Ward 7. Ward 1 Alderman Mike Cannon and Ward 2 Alderman Nick Budmats ran unopposed.
