Distrct 220 board hosting information sessions on $185 million borrowing request

Barrington Area Unit District 220 board members are hosting two final information sessions this week on a tax-increase referendum seeking permission to borrow $185 million for building projects. Officials said the proposal, if approved, would include money to boost safety and security at all District 220 school, update classrooms at all buildings and allow for repairs to roofs, windows, plumbing, electrical systems, heating and air conditioning. Monday's session is set at 9:30 a.m. at Barrington Middle School-Prairie Campus, 40 E. Dundee Road. Another session is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday at Barrington Middle School-Station Campus, 215 S. Eastern Ave. There will be a short presentation, followed by a question-and-answer period. Voters will decide the request in the April 2 election.
