McHenry County's nonprofit and for-profit organizations alike will benefit from the upcoming Volunteer Management Certification and Grant Writing Workshop: Basics to Advanced Development courses hosted by Volunteer Center McHenry County.

These workshops are designed to provide hands-on experience and real-life examples to help participants understand how to move their organization's volunteer programs and grant writing abilities forward.

The Volunteer Management Certification course will be held Thursday and Friday, Jan. 17-18 at the Big Brothers Big Sisters of McHenry County location in Crystal Lake.

The day-and-a-half workshop is designed to train volunteer managers on organizing, implementing, and maintaining an effective volunteer program for their organization.

The curriculum is based on effective best practices used in the industry, illustrated with real examples. Participants will receive a resource guide, presentation slides, and a certificate of completion at the conclusion of training.

The Grant Writing Workshop: Basics to Advanced Development course will be held Wednesday, Feb. 13, at Volunteer Center McHenry County in Crystal Lake.
