Visit Lake County's Libation Trail is a collection of craft breweries, pubs, distilleries and wineries crafting various libations in Lake County. Now, Visit Lake County is teaming up with the Daily Herald for the Libation Trail Tastin' Tour from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, and the first Daily Herald Lake County Libation Trail VIP event from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, at Grayslake's Light the Lamp Brewery. 'When pigs fly'

In honor of the Chicago Bears heading to the playoffs, fast-casual barbecue joint Q-BBQ is set to serve hickory-smoked pork wings from Friday, Jan. 4, through Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 3. “A lot of people were saying the Bears would win the Super Bowl when pigs fly,” John Rot, managing partner of Q-BBQ, said in a prepared statement. Now diners can taste the pork wings - dry-rubbed with Q-BBQ's Memphis or spicy seasoning and tossed with Q-BBQ's signature sweet, spicy or vinegar sauces - on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only. Health-focused fast-casual restaurant B.GOOD, which opens its newest location at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, in Naperville, recently added new items to its winter menu. In addition to the menu staples of kale and grain bowls, salads, burgers, smoothies and more, now diners can try the citrus and avocado salad (kale, blood orange, avocado, radish, sweet potato, red cabbage, beets, cilantro, pumpkin seeds and honey-ginger vinaigrette), maple roasted carrots and mocha protein smoothie (almond butter, dates, chia, hemp, pumpkin seeds, oats, cocoa powder, skim milk and coffee). Starting Feb. 13, B.GOOD will add the maple bacon burger (maple bacon, pepper jack, spicy slaw and jalapeño ranch), grilled tomato and cheese (cheddar, Parmesan, tomato, tomato soup reduction on country bread) and tomato soup to its lineup.
