Couple presents Mediterranean music in Lake Zurich

Nearly 60 children and adults escaped Thursday's rain to enjoy Ela Area Public Library's Music Around the Mediterranean program in Lake Zurich.

Chicago musicians George and Eve Lawler shared the history of a variety of instruments and then played them during their nearly one-hour program. The concert, designed for people of all ages, explored folk songs, instruments and cultures of countries surrounding the Mediterranean Sea such as Turkey, Greece, Italy and North Africa.

The married couple regularly presents their program at libraries, schools and the Chicago Children's Museum.
