Suburban man convicted of child porn gets 29-year sentence

WHEATON, Ill. (AP) - A suburban Chicago man who was convicted of manufacturing child pornography has been sentenced to 29 years in state prison.

In a news release, the DuPage County State's Attorney's office says that 53-year-old Adan Rodriguez of Carol Stream's sentence was imposed this week by Judge Robert Miller.

Rodriguez was convicted of three felony counts of the child pornography charge by a jury in August. During the trial, prosecutors told jurors that in 2015, Rodriguez convinced a minor girl who suffers from spina bifida to send him sexually explicit photographs of herself. He was arrested after the girl's mother saw the sexually explicit text messages and photographs between her daughter and Rodriguez and notified police.

Under Illinois law, Rodriguez must serve half the 29-year-sentence before he is eligible for parole.
