Officials: 3 killed in crash weren't wearing seat belts

WOODSTOCK, Ill. (AP) - Investigators have determined that none of the three men killed in northern Illinois when their Jeep slammed into a tree were wearing seat belts.

And the Chicago Tribune reports that the McHenry County Sheriff's office has also determined that the vehicle was not equipped with air bags.

The crash happened early Sunday in unincorporated Woodstock. They men, all Woodstock residents, were pronounced dead at the scene.

On Monday, the county coroner's office identified the driver as 20-year-old Ryan K. Fleming and the passengers as 21-year-old Daisen T. Hollands and 21-year-old Quinlan M. Hartney. A fourth man in the vehicle was seriously injured.

The sheriff's department says the Jeep was traveling above the 45 mph speed limit at a time when it was foggy and the roads were slippery.
