QB Ehlginer questionable to return for Texas

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger did not immediately return to the game against Iowa State after halftime and the team said his return was questionable.

Ehlinger took a hard hit on his right shoulder on a run in the final seconds of the first half. He came off the field with his right arm hanging down as Texas kicked a field goal for a 17-3 lead.

Ehlinger sprained his throwing shoulder in a win against Baylor earlier in the season and had to leave that game in the first quarter.

Junior Shane Buechele, who was the full-time starter in 2016 came on in Ehlinger's place. He relieved Ehlinger against Baylor and led the Longhorns to the win.
