$150,000 reward offered in 2 recent Chicago slayings

CHICAGO (AP) - Police are hoping an offer of the largest reward in Chicago history will help them find whoever is responsible for the recent slayings of two men.

The Chicago Sun-Time s reports that authorities announced Thursday a $150,000 reward for information leading them to gunman who fatally shot a 73-year-old man on Sept. 30 and a 24-year-old man on Oct. 1. Both men were shot in the head at close range with the same weapon in the Rogers Park neighborhood on the city's North Side.

Police have made public a surveillance video showing a man in black clothing and wearing a ski mask running from the scene of the first shooting.

Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson says he hopes the reward will prompt someone with "direct knowledge" of the slayings to come forward.
