Des Plaines apartment complex to hold grand opening

A grand opening celebration is scheduled for Friday night at Buckingham Place, the new luxury apartment complex on Northwest Highway in Des Plaines.

The 5-story, 270-unit building at 750 E. Northwest Highway will host a reception from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. with appetizers, cocktails and live music.

The development features studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, with rents ranging from $1,427 to $2,798. Amenities include a fitness center, resident lounge with demonstration kitchen, bike storage and repair room, outdoor grilling station, and a pool and sun deck.

The apartment complex is one half of a residential development that also includes townhouses on what used to be the Littelfuse industrial site. The Des Plaines city council approved rezoning of the 21-acre property from manufacturing to residential in 2015.
