Democrat Bob Morgan had a big lead in the race for the North suburbs' state House 58th District seat Tuesday night.

Morgan, of Deerfield, was leading Republican Fredric Bryan "Rick" Lesser of Lake Bluff by a 12,831-to-8,370 margin, unofficial results showed. Those totals didn't include votes cast early or by mail, and some Election Day votes hadn't yet been counted.

The 58th District includes eastern parts of Lake and Cook counties. Democrat Scott Drury didn't seek re-election.
