The Cubs took two of three from the Nats at Wrigley Field in early August, with David Bote's walk-off grand slam winning a Sunday night game. The Nats are one of the most disappointing teams in baseball this season. They entered Wednesday with a record of 69-70 despite a run differential of plus-65. Bryce Harper has rebounded from a poor first half. He batted .214 before the all-star break. He was at .322 in games after the break through Tuesday. For the season he had 31 home runs and 89 RBI for the season. Anthony Rendon had a line of .292/.356/.498 with 18 homers entering Wednesday. This is the end of a four-city road trip for the Cubs. These are games 17-20 of a stretch of 23 in 23 days for the Cubs.
