Challenger's ideas wrong for district

After Sean Casten won the Democrat primary for Illinois' 6th Congressional District, I fully expected his campaign going forward would parrot the political rhetoric of the Democrat leadership, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Dick Durbin, etc. Democrats are desperate to have someone representing our district who will be in lockstep with their marching orders, which are destroying our beautiful state, by the way.

But when I watched the Fox News debate between Casten and Congressman Roskam, I was shocked. I couldn't believe how truly inept and ridiculous Casten's policy positions were. When speaking of immigration, he suggested that we shouldn't ask who is coming into our country because it could offend a person's privacy if they are carrying a "rare virus." What? He actually considers it a "blessing" that the United States is faced with taking in more immigrants undocumented included than we can accommodate.

His other policy priorities include full expansion of Obamacare and increased environmental regulations. And then he offends our sensibilities even further by refusing to deny that he's in favor of raising our taxes. You can't have it both ways, Sean.

Most unsettling, he revealed his hypocritical and intrusive views during the debate's discussion on health care. On the one hand, he feels that it is the government's job to control our health care system thereby mandating what we can and cannot do regarding our own personal health. But in the next breath, he scolds anyone who opposes personal "choice," aka abortion, and goes on to equate abortion with gallbladder removal.

Not only is Sean Casten full of bad ideas, which is what happens when you base your opinions on current fashion vs. truth and principles, his lack of quality judgment tells me he is unfit to represent the people who live in Illinois' 6th District. We deserve better.
