2nd man sentenced in Indiana shootout that left 2 dead

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) - The second of six men charged in connection with a double slaying in northern Indiana has been sentenced to decades in prison.

The South Bend Tribune reports 35-year-old Joshua Sage learned his punishment Wednesday. A jury earlier convicted him of two counts of murder and one count of dealing in methamphetamine. With credit for time served, he'll spend 41 years in prison.

Sage expressed his remorse and apologized about the August shooting deaths of 29-year-old Damon Bethel and 25-year-old Anton James Jr. in South Bend.

Five other men have been charged in connection with a drug-related shootout that left two other people critically injured. One of the five, Robert Lee Brady Jr., earlier was sentenced to 18ˆ½ years in prison after being convicted of charges including dealing in methamphetamine.
