One person killed in Hampshire crash

One person was killed when a vehicle and a semitrailer truck collided Wednesday morning in Hampshire, officials said.

The head-on crash occurred about 6:20 a.m. on Route 20, east of Gast Road, according to a statement from the Hampshire Fire Protection District. One person who had to be extricated was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

Another person was taken to a hospital in Elgin with injuries that appeared to be not life-threatening, officials said. A third person was treated at the scene.

The crash closed Route 20 between Big Timber and Gast roads for several hours, authorities said. An investigation is ongoing.
