Palatine, Rolling Meadows libraries get state grants

The Palatine Public Library District will receive $111,228 and the Rolling Meadows Library will get $30,123 in state grant funding to improve and increase library services, state Rep. Tom Morrison of Palatine announced Wednesday.

The funding comes from the Public Library Per Capita Grants Program, which offers grants of up to $1.25 per person served by a library.

"Libraries are often a focal point of a community," Morrison said in the announcement. "I am pleased to know that a portion of this year's per capita library grant funds will be channeled toward libraries here in the 54th District."

Per Capita Grant funding can be spent on library materials, personnel, equipment, electronic access, telecommunications and technology.
