Two ways to ease motorcycle maintenance, security

The Grip-Lock is a quick, easy way of securing your motorcycle from theft.

The handy device mounts in seconds to immobilize the throttle grip and brake lever, so the bike can't be ridden. You can't forget it's on, unlike disc locks and other anti-theft devices, and it is easily seen by wood-be thieves, so they'll just move on to an easier target.

Each Grip-Lock is made of a reinforced nylon casing and contains four hardened steel cores for maximum protection. It adjusts for various grip diameters and brake lever placements.

The lock weighs less than 12 ounces and is compact enough for a tank bag or pocket. Grip-Locks are made in New Zealand and can be ordered on Amazon for $65.

Wheel Jockey is a handy tool

Wheel Jockey (www.wheeljockey.com) is a patented motorcycle tool that offers a simple solution to the bothersome task of rotating motorcycle wheels for cleaning and polishing, drive chain maintenance and tire inspection and inflation.

Once the motorcycle is easily "walked" onto a Wheel Jockey, the bike's tire turns on sealed ball-bearing rollers. The rotation provides easy access to the entire wheel, tire and chain. The Sport model is also small enough to stow under the seat or in most any motorcycle luggage.

I've been using one for years; it makes wheel, tire and chain maintenance so much easier.

The Wheel Jockey Sport is constructed of powder-coated steel and aluminum and accommodates motorcycles up to 650 pounds. It sells for $59. For heavy cruiser bikes, the Big Joc is for bikes up to 950 pounds and sells for $89 plus shipping. And they're MADE IN AMERICA.
