Wolves clinch Central, to face IceHogs in first round

Teemu Pulkkinen and T.J. Tynan each scored a pair of goals and the Chicago Wolves clinched the AHL's Central Division with a 6-4 victory over the host Rockford IceHogs on Friday.

The result means the teams will meet in the first round of the Calder Cup playoffs, with Game 1 set for April 21 at Allstate Arena at 7 p.m. The best-of-five series continues the next night in Rockford at 4 p.m., while Game 3 is in Chicago on April 26 at 7 p.m.

Rockford, behind third-period goals from Cody Franson, Chris DiDomenico and Gustav Forsling, mounted a furious comeback after falling behind 5-1, but Tynan made it 6-4 with an empty-net goal with 1:59 remaining.

Rockford, which ends its season at Allstate Arena against the Wolves on Saturday, clinched a playoff berth with a 5-3 victory at Iowa on Tuesday.

The Wolves (41-22-7-4) got 32 saves from Oscar Dansk.
