Police officer fatally shoots man after Indiana traffic stop

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. (AP) - Authorities say a police officer has fatally shot a man in the parking lot of a business following a traffic stop in northern Indiana.

State police say officers from the North Manchester Police Department stopped a pickup truck on Tuesday evening for a traffic infraction and there was "an incident" that led to an officer shooting at the driver. Police say the driver died of a gunshot wound.

No officers were injured. Police identified the driver as 40-year-old Michael Kline of North Manchester.

State police say additional information isn't being immediately released amid an ongoing investigation. The results of the investigation are expected to be reviewed by the Wabash County Prosecutor's Office.
